MEZCAL DE ALICIA
MEZCAL DE ALICIA is the perfect example of an Alternative Pop band, fun, musical with a lot of energy on stage that immediately spreads their good vibe to any audience when they start their show.
Its name comes from the ancestral Mexican drink MEZCAL which has a unique and strong flavor, this represents the roots of Alicia (lead vocal), blended with the musical elements consolidating a better experience.
In the beginning, Alicia and her cousins formed the group when they were just teenagers, transforming oldies songs into new grooves with new arrangements making them sound modern. The band lasted a short time but left a good name on the ska/rock scene of the time.
Years passed and in 2020 the idea of re-forming the band resumed with the arrival of Enzo (Vocals and musical director), but now producing original music. Since then MEZCAL DE ALICIA has been taking giant steps performing at numerous events and festivals not only in the USA but also in Mexico, opening doors in Latin America and Europe.
Alicia's vocal versatility makes the audience vibrate by bringing her Mexican roots to the group's current sound, highlighting her solid presence on stage.
Alicia Castro: was born in Long Beach California and from an early age she began to develop her love in music and singing at school choirs, alongside her grandmother who used to sing Mariachi, Banda and Rancheras while she took care of her.
Her musical maturity led her to be recognized in multiple stages and genres. For several years she has been the lead voice of different groups as well as a backup singer of important projects thanks to her vocal texture which gives her a unique character when singing.
Enzo Villaparedes: originally from Caracas Venezuela, began his studies at the classical music conservatory at the age of 6, in a short time he was part of important symphony orchestras... at 14, he began to delve into popular music, managing to stand out with great artists like Franco De Vita in his native country, then moved to Los Angeles California and since then he has been part of great names such as Juan Gabriel, Joan Sebastian, Earth Wind & Fire Experience featuring Al McKay, Frankie Valli and the four seasons, Panteón Rococó , Los Tigres Del Norte... among many others in that category... on the other hand, he has won awards within a wide range of music for TV and films for his compositions and or productions.
